Factors to Consider
The Nuabee solution does not require the deployment of hardware components, and therefore the implementation time of the solution is mainly a function of 2 parameters:
- The number of servers to protect
- The ratio between the volume of these servers relative to the available bandwidth and the available time window to perform the backups
Some Examples of Duration
For a scope of 20 servers and a significant available bandwidth (say 500 Mbps) during an 8-hour window at night
- The initial implementation duration of the DR solution, which ends with the first failover test, is about 4 weeks
For a scope of 100 servers and an average bandwidth (say 300 Mbps) during a 6-hour window at night
- The initial implementation duration of the DR solution, which ends with the first failover test, will rather be 10/12 weeks
For a scope of 5 servers and a significant available bandwidth (say 500 Mbps) during a 6-hour window at night
- The initial implementation duration of the DR solution, which ends with the first failover test, can be done in less than 10 days: yes, we have already done it 😉
Factors Increasing the Implementation Duration
We observe cases where project timelines extend, the main reasons are as follows:
- Limited availability of the client’s technical teams
- Some clients needing external service providers to deploy backup agents on their applications
