“The question isn’t if you’re going to be attacked, but rather when you will be”: the hacking of a competitor’s Information System made the CIO of this large company in the electrical equipment distribution industry realize the need to protect against any cyber-attack capable of infecting not only the main IT production site of his company but also the backup room communicating with the nominal site.
Indeed, beyond the harmful consequences that a cyber-attack can have on the turnover and the trust of customers, it was also necessary to provide more guarantees to the insurer in order to benefit from good coverage of the risks of a downturn in activity in case of disaster.

A cloud-managed Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)
To address this issue, the company adopted Nuabee’s Flexible Recovery solution, which offers a Public Cloud-managed Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) with Orange’s secure Flexible Engine.
In total, 200 servers (37 physical servers and 163 virtual machines) and 25 TB of data are protected. Critical applications are covered by a fully automated BCP with an average restart time guarantee of 4 hours. The use of Orange’s VPN Galerie service complements the solution with the automatic reconfiguration of branches to the backup cloud. For other applications, data and servers backed up in the cloud are subject to manual reinstallation via proven procedures.
Regular tests, with no impact on production, ensure the solution’s proper functioning and the consideration of IT scope evolutions.
Flexible Recovery presents a technological breakthrough that prevents the spread of the virus in case of a computer attack.
Continuity of orders and supply chain
“Flexible Recovery is an easy-to-implement solution adapted to our needs that guarantees the continuity of our commercial activity: orders and supply chain.” adds the CIO.
It also avoids heavy investments since the backup virtual machines are activated and billed on demand.
Finally, this solution has the advantage of being fully managed with a service guarantee.
Afin de répondre à cette problématique, l’entreprise a adopté la solution de Nuabee Flexible Recovery, qui offre un Plan de reprise d’activité (PRA) managé dans le cloud public sécurisé Orange : Flexible Engine.
Au total, ce sont ainsi 200 serveurs (37 serveurs physiques et 163 machines virtuelles) et 25 To de données qui sont protégés. Les applications critiques font l’objet d’un PRA entièrement automatisé avec une garantie de temps de redémarrage moyen de 4 heures. L’utilisation du service VPN Galerie d’Orange complète la solution avec la reconfiguration automatique des agences au cloud de secours. Pour les autres applications, les données et serveurs sauvegardés dans le cloud font l’objet de réinstallations manuelles via des procédures éprouvées.
Des tests réguliers, sans impact sur la production, permettent de s’assurer du bon fonctionnement de la solution et de la prise en compte des évolutions de périmètre du SI.
Flexible Recovery présente une rupture technologique qui permet d’éviter la propagation du virus en cas d’attaque informatique.
