How SSD NAS works #
To enable the transfer of large amounts of data to the cloud, Nuabee can supply a pre-configured SSD NAS as an optional local storage appliance.
Typically, an SSD NAS can be sent to the customer to :
- Perform an initial data upload service when the Internet link bandwith is not sufficient.
- Carry out a rollback disaster recovery service.
- Transferring an old backup database for archiving in the cloud
This NAS SSD is physically transported by postal services.
Each NAS SSD has a unique identifier (4 or 5-digit number indicated on the top of the NAS SSD) referred to in this document as *ID*.
The following diagram explains the general operating principle
Initial data loading #
Once you’ve received your NAS SSD, you’ll need to install it in your datacenter.
We’ll work with you to define the most relevant servers to back up via this NAS (versus using your Internet link) and help you configure them.
These backups can be Image mode, File mode or Hypervisor mode.
All backup data is encrypted on the NAS using the same algorithm as that used for Cloud backups (AES).
Once these backups have been completed, the NAS is returned to us, and we upload the data from our Internet links.
